We are delighted to offer an outstanding vertical of Leoville Las Cases encompassing the very finest vintages from 1966-2000 and including a number of magnificent large formats.

CHATEAU LEOVILLE LAS CASES OFFER

One of the oldest Estates in the Medoc, Leoville Las Cases is rightly seen as the very best “Super-Second” where in many instances the wines are of Premier Cru quality. It neighbours Chateau Latour on the boundary where Pauillac meets St. Julien. With the arrival and stewardship of the late Michel Delon in 1976, Leoville Las Cases experienced a resurgence creating a string of successful vintages demonstrating why it is one of the greatest wines of Bordeaux.

1966 Vintage

The 1960’s were a difficult period for Leoville Las Cases, though the 66 has always been the best and now it has shed the tight tannic elements it shows classy dark cherries and red fruits with a gorgeous silky texture.

1 Case Leoville Las Cases €2,100/Case 6btls

2x Leoville Las Cases 1.5L Magnum €850 each

1978 Vintage

The 78’s were seen as a serious vintage at the time, but with a string of glorious vintages in the 80’s, it was largely forgotten. That said, a number of the 78’s are providing great enjoyment and in these rare large formats the 78 Las Cases is in great shape. Dense and rich dark fruits this is mellow and really enjoyable. 1983 Vintage

The 83 is an excellent example and still shows quite youthfully especially, for a wine of almost 40 years old. Lovely deep rich dark fruits, currants and classic cedar elements, it is really long and harmonious. Recently rated 94pts by Decanter Magazine.

4x Leoville Las Cases 1.5L Magnums €475 each

1985 Vintage

I always found the 85’s lovely and the Leoville Las Cases is one of the top wines of the vintage. Impressive and poised it marries power and elegance providing an utterly seamless and gorgeous experience. Rated 97pts by Vinous Media last year.

1986 Vintage

The 86 is for me the greatest wine made at Leoville Las Cases and unsurprisingly, it still feels fresh and youthful. It is majestic and classically structured with phenomenal concentration and deep layers of spiced fruit cake notes. It is an amazing wine with great length and a long future ahead. Awarded a perfect 100pts by Wine Advocate and very recently 100pts by Decanter Magazine.

1x Leoville Las Cases 3L Double-Magnum €2,600

1988 Vintage

This was both a difficult vinatge and a late harvest, though Las Cases turned out a beautiful wine.  It is rich and concentrated yet retaining elegance with spicy black fruits and cinnamon. Fresh, long and just hitting its optimum drinking and will remain there for the next 10+ years. Recently awarded 96pts by Decanter, Jeb Dunnock and James Suckling.

1989 Vintage

At the time it looked like the 89’s were overshadowed by the 1990’s. Over time however, the 89’s show ripeness with sufficient concentration and vibrancy and are in great shape. It has a seductive, round, supple character with long flavours and great harmony. This has a long life ahead and was recently awarded 98pts by Decanter.

A great success for Las Cases the 95 is concentrated with great depth and power, yet displays considerable finesse.
