We are pleased to offer a stunning selection of rare mature Cote Rotie and Hermitage (or Ermitage) from the greatest estates, available in highly limited quantities. Top mature Rhone is always tough to find as these have historically been for drinking connoisseurs rather than collectors.

Kicking-off with Cote Rotie, Marius Gentaz is a winemaking legend and now many years since the Estate no longer exists, his wines are revered and as well as being amongst the most-sought after are phenomenally rare. The 1991 Cote Brune is one of the greatest ever made and still gloriously youthful. The Magnums of 1986 Cote Blonde La Garde is from Albert Dervieux, the brother-in-law of Marius Gentaz and it is blended with a small amount of Viognier and is almost Burgundian-like. Guigal’s La La’s need no introduction and are amongst the most sublime wines to be found. We have wines from some of the greatest vintages including 1985, 1989 and 1990, all are simply sublime.

Jamet’s flagship Cote Brune comes for a 0.5ha parcel of old Syrah vines and is round and delicious. The 1990 Cote Rotie from Rostaing is harmonious and shows such class and finesse.

The Chave family have been winemakers since 1481 and perhaps no estate epitomises Hermitage quite to the degree of Chave. The 1977 is a beautiful wine coming of a more challenging vintage with its silky, ethereal quality and drinking superbly. The 1996 is graceful combining power and a silky texture.

Chapoutier’s single-vineyard Ermitage are stunning, rich and assertive. The 1991 Le Pavillon is off the charts, from this top vintage. It is powerful, concentrated and utterly compelling and in these magnificent Magnums, irresistible. Chapoutier’s White Ermitage is the finest expression of Marsanne, both are rich, expressive and in large formats extra special.

Hermitage La Chapelle is one of the most recognised wines from the appellation and the 1973 is an outstanding success rich and gorgeous.
